The Black Woman Artist
My name is Keyanah, also known as Key :)
I am a black woman who is also an artist. I have been doing art for about 10 years now, but I didn't get serious about art until my friends and family told me they would buy my art from me. Ever since they told me that, I have been working on my craft and discovering new ways to expand my art horizons. It has been a long but great journey finding out what kind of style is mostly mine.
Furthermore, working with acrylic paint is the medium that I use the most. It is quick-drying, but I can always paint over my mistakes and act like they were never there. I think that is why I like to use it the most because I can just ignore the mistakes I make and focus on the greatness that is forming each time I touch my paintbrush to the canvas. Focusing on the good instead of the bad is my thing and I tend to add that into my art as well because no piece of artwork is perfect. It's the mistakes that make it perfect and unique.
In addition to me doing art, I also have 2 lovely boys who make getting up every day to work on my art or anything I do all worth it. My first son is 2 years old and Little Myles is full of so much energy, creativity, and intelligence for anyone to handle. His personality is so bright and big, I am certain that anything he decides to do in his future will be amazing! My second son is 1 and Mekhi has already shown me that he will have just as big a personality as his brother and then some. Therefore, don't be surprised if you see either Myles and/or Mekhi as a co-artist on any of my pieces.
Well, enough about me, let's get into the art :)
